5 Cool London Date Ideas this week 26/11 – 2/12

Winter is coming… No….. Winter is well and truly here – as I sit here freezing my butt off.

We’ve basically been ready to don our Christmas jumpers since the start of November but now we’ve seen the Coca Cola Christmas Advert on tv, we feel it is actually “acceptable” to start shouting about all things Christmas! So, this week we’ve got a fair few festive suggestions along with a couple of non-Christmas related activities for the Scrooges of you out there!

Have a great one!

Georgie and Jordi

Winterville

Clapham Common’s own Winter Wonderland is back and ready to offer South Londoners an alternative Festive Fair. Big names including the Backyard Cinema and Street Feast will be making this fair one of the best in the capital. There’ll be a roller disco, karaoke, plonk golf as well as a cracking line of DJs on over the Friday and Saturday evenings while the event is on.

Dinner by Del Boy

The guys and girls that brought the Faulty Towers Dining Experience to the capital are back this weekend with another “cushty” cracker! They’re here to transport you to the Nags Head to grab a pint with Peckham’s proudest residents, Del Boy and Rodney. The Only Fools Cushty dining experience will provide you with an evening of wheeling, dealing and eating.

Christmas By The River Market

This event holds a special place in our hearts, mainly because for a second year running, we’re part of this awesome event! It must be the most enchanting of all the markets, right in the centre on London, overlooking the River Thames with magical views of London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. There’ll be a whole of artisan wonders, food and drink galore and your favourite events team, Smudged Lipstick! We won’t be there this weekend just FYI, we’re heading over on 5th Dec for a juicy game of Jenga dating.

Made In Camberwell

Head South of the river for a festive Artists Open Studio event at Camberwell this weekend and next. There’ll be over 40 local artists displaying their work at the Made in Camberwell Christmas Arts Market. These creative geniuses will be selling their crafty goods in many forms, from ceramics, clothing and accessories, jewellery to photography, painting and prints. You’ll definitely be able to tick someone off your Christmas list with a visit to Camberwell this weekend.

Santa Claus is coming to Town

And there are hundreds of them in the annual Santa Dash 5k or 10k fun run, taking place on Sunday 2nd December at Victoria Park. Not only do you get a free Santa costume, you’ll be plied with mince pies and all the Christmas classics being played to help you on your merry way. You can choose to raise funds for several charities, but the headline charity is Save the Children. So, get those trainers at the ready!
