5 Cool London Date Ideas This Week 1/6 – 7/6
It may be a shorter week this week, but that doesn’t mean there is any shortage in terms of cool things to do to get those creative juices flowing. So, scrap the coffee cliché and do something a little more DARING! Here are this week’s cool London date ideas.
Cinema’s and gimmicks have been part of our staple London diet for what seems like an eternity. BUT, throw ice cream behemoth together with a floating apparatus – and you’ve got yourselves a pop-up cinema….. Of course. Haagen Dazs’ Openaire Cinema is back in Paddington which would make a great group date for a bunch of friends or it would be insanely pricey at £248 per boat. Romantic, but pricey.
There are only so many TV series you can watch before you feel guilty about not getting enough culture. Well, time to drag your date to Somerset House for Biennale 2021 and immerse yourself in some creativity. It kicks off 1st of June and runs until the 27th, so best to beat the crowds and get in early.
SPIRITLAND at Joy in Portobello has been on for a couple of weeks, but your window to take advantage of this uber-cool hive of activity is slowly closing. Expect everything from live jazz music and talks to big nights of house music. Events are pre-ticketed, but you can just rock up for free, grab some food and just soak up the vibe if you fancy being a little more spontaneous.
Every Wednesday Brixton Courtyard hosts Open Decks on the Beach! The night consists of promoting some of the hottest local DJ talent spinning their stuff whilst you’re able to inhale street food and grab a few drinks whilst hanging out in their beach courtyard. Entry is free and bookings are done “by the table” whilst drinks can be pre-ordered….. What’s not to love??
Sometimes all you need to do is keep it simple. Pappagone’s in Finsbury Park is a no-nonsense pizza institution that has been around for almost 25 years! It’s perfect place to have arguably London’s best pizza and an ice-cold Spritz without breaking the bank. Best to book in advance and expect large crowds for when Italy are playing in the Euros.
