One of East London’s quirkiest bars, The Last Tuesday Society, is bringing a petting zoo to their weird and wonderful Museum of Curiosities! Far from your typical bleating lambs and chubby adorable piglets, this is not for the faint hearted. This zoo introduces you to exotic creatures from lands far away, you’ll meet Winston the Bearded Dragon, Bob the Bull Frog, Delilah the Boa Constrictor and even sassy Sophie the tarantula. Fear not for the welfare of these animals, most if not all of them have been rescued and are enjoying their new lease of life being adored by the public.
To warm your cockles up the Heni Gallery are offering to transport you to Latin America. With an exhibition and preview of some of David Bailey’s snaps from his upcoming book, an incredibly vibrant collection of photographs taken from his travels around the South American Country. Giving you a taste of the Peruvian lifestyle, Bailey’s Peru will be published next week by Heni Publishing.
For the best Thanksgiving feast in London, it must be the Blues Kitchen. They’ll be serving up a starter of New Orleans style gumbo, buttermilk fried turkey with ALL the yank-ified trimmings and pumpkin pie for you to polish off, with a side of soul music in true Blues Kitchen style. Their Thanksgiving menu is available for one night only on 22nd November across all three of their swinging venues.
Only he’s not, it’s Uncle Glen that we want to see. For an evening of improvisation, with a rotating cast of top actors that you’ll recognise from the stage, TV and film, this is a show with a twist. One of the actors has seen the script, the other has absolutely zero idea of what they are about to step into until they step foot on stage! Uncle Glen’s Menagerie is on at the Arcola Theatre on Sunday 25th November for a one-off show.
Hiking is the new hygee for 2019, or so we’ve heard. We’re more of ambling kind though, so the London Ambler’s guided walk Architecture, Streetlife and Survival of the East End is right up our street! You’ll learn facts about London’s hipster capital as you stroll the streets of Old Street, Shoreditch, Spitalfields and Hoxton.
