Autumn is in full swing and we’re actually quite excited. It means chunky knitwear and finally a chance to crack out our collection of winter coats, and dare we say it… the fist glimpse of Christmas! Most people next weekend will be celebrating Guy Fawkes in some shape or form. For the ultimate bonfire night experience, it must be Ally Pally. There is literally something for everyone; Ice skating, a beer festival, a fun fair, fireworks, a laser show AND dinosaurs.
One of the most iconic female artists pretty much ever – Frida Kahlo’s work is the latest of the V&A’s not to be missed exhibitions. With a whole host of recently discovered artwork, photographs and personal items in a hidden room in her house, is on display in South Ken until 4th November. So, catch her quick!
You could get your skates on afterwards and circle around the rink at the magnificent Natural History Museum. The ice rink is open from now and is THE place to go to get that Instagram shot of the season. Think fairy lights, mulled wine and perhaps the most beautiful backdrop you’ll find in the capital.
If you’re after quirky, then head to the newly opened Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration on the Embankment. The fourth opening from this restaurateur. You’ll be sipping crafty cocktails, surrounded by the antique artefacts of the intrepid Victorian explorer Phileas J. Fogg Esq and his array of weird and wonderful possessions. Set in the style of the Orient Express you’ll be dreaming of life in the colonial era.
To coincide with the latest blockbuster Bohemian Rhapsody, Carnaby Street is hosting a pop-up shop and exhibition for all things Queen. Having partnered with 20th Century Fox – this is pretty huge – make sure you visit Carnaby Street after dark to see the dedicated Bohemian Rhapsody light display in its full glory!
