It’s not all Christmas-themed this time of year…. Although it’s getting tougher and tougher to find non-Christmassy stuff for the next couple of months. Anyway, here are this week’s cool London date ideas to kick off the first full week in November!
Aimless riverside walks and browsing markets are both great date ideas on their in their own right. BUT, combine the 2 (crazy, I know) and you can’t go wrong. The Southbank Centre Christmas Market is back this week (Christmas apparently starts in November now). It’s on for a while, but if you’re super keen you can go this week and get in early!
The whole urban forest thing is basically a staple diet for things to do in London over winter. So, behind Liverpool Street Station is the Broadgate Winter Forest which is the perfect place for a post-work drink date alternative. Grab a mulled wine and sit under a heater at one of the resident bars.
Amazing light and sound installations with the them of “illusion” make this year’s Glow Winter Lights Festival 2019 a great date idea. It’s happening this Friday and Saturday in Barking, so make a day/night of it and do something different!
For those culture vultures out there….. Or those just wanting to inject themselves with a little culture, the Tottenham Literature Festival is happening all week until the 9th. Expect an array of immersive things to check out including talks, performances, music and classic films.
The Recorderlig Cider Lodge is back on Southbank this week. A great place to spend an hour or 2 off to kick off the night as you share a sugary Swedish nectar of the gods (not just the nectar teenagers in parks). It’s on until January, but still at least you know it’s there now if you’re looking for something different!
Until next week!
