5 Cool London Date Ideas This Weekend 29/7-31/7

The sun’s eased and now heading outside the house is so much more appealing. So, it’s time to take advantage and drag your date to something a little more exciting than just “drinks after work”.

The “Cry Me a RIVER” Date

Well, outdoor festivals are officially back in full force. Southbank has always been a staple date idea since Cavemen and women roamed the Thames thousands of years ago. The National Theatre’s River Stage is back every weekend between now and the 14th of August. Expect great live entertainment, drinks, food and much more. Great for an ambling first date to get to know each other.

The “Smile on your DIAL” Date

Seven Dials, the confusing nexus of streets in Covent Garden is having an outdoor fest on Saturday the 30th. Seven Dials Summer Sessions is rocking out for 1 day only for what will be another great opportunity to soak up the rays in central London. Stalls, summer activities (let your imagination run wild), food and shopping are quoted as the highlights…… Again, one to amble around without any agenda.

The “REDdy For Anything” Date

Another outdoor summer street festival to check out, but a little further afield. Redchurch Street in Shoreditch is blocking traffic in order to exhibit a great mix of street food from Dishoom and Cecconi’s, open air ping pong tournaments, yoga demonstrations from Sweaty Betty and much more.

The “EXPRESS Yourself” Date

OK, so we’ve all been on a date to Pizza Express when we were younger. And, though you may think those days are over, Pizza Express have made a recent detour from the whole “what’s on the tin” type reputation. Pizza Express Live is a concept where some very talented musicians of various genres take up residence in a number of Pizza Express restaurants across London. Cheap, cheerful and nostalgic all rolled into one!

The “Give Them the FLICK” Date

Outdoor cinema season is having a dream run at the moment. With this incredible weather, cancellations are at a minimum and singlets are the order of the day. The free outdoor cinema as part of the Underbelly Summer Festival has some great opetions this weekend including The Beach, The Matrix and Nightmare Academy. If you hold out until Monday the 1st of August you’ll be able to catch Point Break (we assume it’s the original).

Until next week!
