Top 5 Sober Date Ideas for Dry January

Congratulations you have made it through the majority of Dry January! There are less than two weeks to go and we bet you are feeling clean, lean and have more energy than ever. So, why not expel that newfound buzz on activities that don’t require “a buzz”? Even if you aren’t keeping January Dry, give these date ideas a shot… or 3… or 4.

The “tee-totally FREE Bar” Date

5 years ago, Redemption opened up the UK’s first alcohol-free bar and have been perfecting the art of deliciously healthy cocktails ever since. They call themselves London’s healthiest restaurant serving up vegan, sugar-free and wheat-free food alongside their tasty tipples. If you want to “spoil yourself without spoiling yourself” pop into any of their 3 spaces in Covent Garden, Notting Hill and Shoreditch.

Follow their Instagram or why not book onto their cookery retreat in Portugal this February.

The “Out of this WORLD” Date

The Wonder Factory is an interactive pop-up art exhibition in Dalston that features 15 rooms of fun. With London’s only marshmallow swimming pool, galactic mirror room and indoor beach this is every Instagrammer’s dry dream. Tickets start from £9 so this is easy on the pocket but be quick because it is only around until Sunday 9th February.

Get your tickets here or take a look at some of their installations on Instagram.

The “you HERB it here first” Date

Mocktail Masterclasses do not come more magical than this. Petersham Nurseries are partnering up with Seedlip on the 28th January to teach you how to create sophisticated non-alcoholic cocktails. Each guest will get to make two beautiful drinks dressed in botanicals, herbs and edible flowers served alongside complimentary canapés.

Take a peek at their Instagram and snap up your tickets here (£25).

The “RED-y or not” Date

Honour the Year of the Rat at the Chinese New Year festival by putting on your favourite red clothes and walking around Central London. On the 26th January, Chinatown and the West End will come alive with parades, food stalls and live performances to celebrate the Lunar New Year. To enjoy the event Cantonese-style, order a chicken and a fish dish from one of Visit London’s top 10 Chinese Restaurants.

The “hate the player, not the GAME” Date

Brunch can be the bane of your life in January as more often than not they tend to be bottomless. But, do not fear because Platform is here to save the day. They have created ridiculously tasty mocktails to help you detox from the festive season and they are throwing in 2 hours of gaming. Platform is London’s first dedicated video games, esports bar and restaurant so you can expect a wide selection to choose from.
